With sweeping brushstrokes, he guides our eye around the river and then out towards the warm evening sun. Its such a clever composition with the trees and riverbank running in parallel on our left. While the river stretches out, pushing at reeds, as it swirls around to our right. The muted palette is also sublime with its earthy tones and subtle
