It gave us tons of legendary creatures for Commander (though after the fact), and it laid a lot of the foundations for what would later become the original Modern Masters Draft format, a format that many would hail as nifty. What this does well is add some redundancy to any deck with green, that is able to get to four mana and wants to "Show and Tell" more often

Most decks in Modern will be able to cast this with two counters, with three being largely attainable as well
