Correctly named to; 463991 Pte. B. Thayer. 29 Can. Inf. Bert Thayer was born in Crawley, before emigrating to Canada. He attested on 14 August 1915 and served on the Western Front with the 29th Canadian Infantry Regiment. He was killed in action on the Somme on 26 September 1916 and has no known grave. He is commemmorated on the Vimy Memorial.
