In recognition of his defeat, an English tribal leader gave his own sword to Harald, in the hope of never seeing him again. The sword has both a crossguard and a pommel made of solid gold, and the blade is decorated with depictions of Harald and the mythical Midgard serpent, which serves as the figurehead on his proud ship, Ragna.
