(Early 80s) 1937 J. Press Hobo Nickel - XF/AU Hand Carving - Fine Nickel Saint Gaudens The inscriptions read “Jackie Robinson”John F. Press 9 20 46 3 10 83 John F. Press began making hobo nickels circa 1980, and died 1983. He taught J. Allen (see below) how to make hobo nickels, and their works are very similar in style. He signed his hobo nickels J.
