The piece is made of terra cotta pottery and decorated in black with a fox hunting scene, complete with horse riders, dogs and a man holding up a fox in the air. The underside is marked with the British registry mark indicating a manufacture date of August, 1856. The jar is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or wear,
