This is a furnishing weight silk and is of a very high quality, possibly made to furnish the walls of a spectacular room. The silk dates from the first half of the 19th century and was made in the UK, it has an original shop label which reads Muntzer & Son, 25 Regent Street, Piccadilly (London) which suggests it was never used, but there are stitching marks and the remains
