There are plenty of games where they come at you too strong and fast for the Orb to make any difference and would have been much better as anything else however in any game that is at all close the Orb will make a turn or twos difference and swing the game in its controller's favour

The reason it's nigh on unplayable in most decks is the downside tacked onto the card
