There is nice synergy with them and creatures that explore like Merfolk Branchwalker, since Merfolk Branchwalker has two power when it enters the battlefield but could have three power when it dies

Im a big fan of a cards theme and lore really closely matching what the card actually does

I've also seen it suggested that there should be different card arts as cosmetics so you can dynamically choose your preferred version, which sounds like a cool alternative to having so many copies of the same card

An edict on turn 5 isn't amazing, but it does subtract from your opponents board, and there's a pretty good chance it'll be a 4/3 flyer in a couple of turns
